I attended undergraduate school at the University of Michigan. I attended medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine. I completed my internship at Yale University and my general surgery residency at the Medical College of Ohio (which is now the University of Toledo). I completed my vascular surgery fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. I obtained my law degree from the Detroit College of Law (which is now Michigan State University College of Law). I am presently the chief of the section of vascular surgery at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. I am a professor of surgery at Oakland University/William Beaumont School of Medicine, and Adjunct Professor of Law at Michigan State University College of Law. I am the director of the vascular surgery fellowship program at William Beaumont Hospital and a Distinguished Fellow of the Society for Vascular Surgery.
