Dr. Anirudha Goparaju MD, FACS is a bariatric and general surgeon currently practicing in Fayetteville, AR with Roller Weight Loss & Advanced Surgery.

Dr. Goparaju was raised in Sugar Land, Texas. He graduated with Bachelor of Science in Biology, Magna Cum Laude at the University of Houston in 2008. He remained in Houston for his medical training at McGovern Medical School. During his time in school, he developed a passion for surgery and the use of surgical technology to improve patient outcomes. He then continued to complete his residency training at Lincoln Medical Center (Bronx, NY), an affiliate of Weill Cornell Medical College. Here Dr. Goparaju became adept at complex open and trauma techniques. Dr. Goparaju then grew his skillset to include complex minimally invasive surgery through his fellowship in Advanced GI surgery, bariatrics, and robotics at the NYU Long Island School of Medicine.
Dr. Goparaju served as faculty at NYU Long Island School of Medicine at the rank of Assistant Professor between 2019 and 2022. At LISOM, he practiced bariatric and general surgery with emphasis on MIS and robotic techniques. He also remained on the trauma surgery staff where he regularly managed emergency and trauma cases. He also published numerous papers and presented at national conferences on topics including trends and use of robotics in general surgery, complex revisional bariatrics, and management of difficult complications in bariatric surgery. Dr. Goparaju was recognized and awarded the 2021-2022 Outstanding Faculty of the Year award by the surgical staff.
Dr. Goparaju is board certified in general surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He also maintains membership in the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and the American Foregut Society.
