Joseph Lewis, DO is a University of Florida trauma and acute care surgeon at Halifax Health in Daytona Beach, FL. He obtained his doctor of osteopathic medicine at the University of Pikeville – Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, Kentucky. Thereafter, he pursued a general surgery residency at Stony Brook University. Following the completion of his residency, Dr. Lewis completed a surgical critical care fellowship at Orlando Health. His current practice is trauma, general surgery, surgical critical care, robotic surgery, and endosocpy. He serves as the Chair of the Blood Utilization Committee and Chair of the Trauma Practice Guideline Committee. He leads and directs the quality improvement projects for the trauma program, blood utilization, robotic surgery, and clinical pharmacy programs. In addition to his clnical responsibilities with the University of Florida, he is an assistant clinical professor at Florida State University - Daytona Beach Campus and a clnical instructor at the new Orlando College Of Osteopathic Medicine - Orlando, FL.
