Douglas Joyce, D.O. is an adult and pediatric Cardiothoracic and Vascular surgeon specializing in complex venous surgery. He is board certified in General surgery, Cardiothoracic and vascular surgery and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine.
He was trained at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio and Deborah Heart & Lung Center in New Jersey. He focused on congenital open-heart surgery for the first 6 years of his career and had the opportunity to perform surgery on children in the former Soviet Union in Georgia and Lithuania.
He then moved home to Michigan and performed surgery in a level 1 trauma center for 3 years. He relocated to Florida in 1995 and developed a procedure to treat severe venous disease with ulcers. This led to the creation of the Joyce Vein & Aesthetic institute in Punta Gorda where he currently treats patients from Florida and as far away as Colorado and even Germany.
